During root canal or endodontic treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a crown for protection.
Again, we understand that going to a specialist isn’t always convenient. Dr. Herman has completed several hundred root canals and is confident treating most teeth including molars. We have state of the art equipment to make the procedure more efficient and predictable. Of course there are situations that require seeing a specialist (which is why they exist) and at those times we make the referral to one of our trusted local endodontists.
